Feel the Beat hits Netflix June 18!

Descendants star Sofia Carson makes the move from Disney to Netflix in this drama/dance film directed by Elissa Down. The film will have Sofia taking on the role of a disgraced Broadway actor named April that's returned home to help a group of misfit dancers secure a win in an upcoming dance competition. Our design team had the pleasure of creating the titles and graphics for this uplifting and high energy feature film which will be out on Netflix June 18. We asked our Creative Director, Sam Javanrouh about the feature.

EPS: Is there anything specific you did here that you are proud of?

SJ: We did a creative pitch for the main title as well as in-show titles in a short time which the client liked. When we started the animation process, COVID-19 hit and it was a challenge to continue the workflow without interruption between multiple artists, especially since the delivery time didn't change. 

EPS: Have you worked with this client before?

SJ: We haven't work with this client, Twinkle Toes Productions before. We have worked with Netflix before but this was not a Netflix Original so we were working with filmmakers directly. We created multiple variations of the main title and the client was open to discuss various ideas.

EPS: You've done titles before for a number of projects, what do you like doing or want to try in the future?

SJ: Every title design tells a story and in a way, each new title design is a completely fresh new challenge. That's what's appealing to me and I like to experiment with new ideas, new stories use new techniques to tell them.
